We found the perfect sailing catamaran to take us around the world. Our goal is to transition to "Part-Time" World Cruisers while trying our best to keep some normalcy for our youngsters with a land base near Lake Tahoe.
We have our Mainsheet Block snap (at night of course), Victron Quattro melt..... And all while the weatherman is wrong so we committed to the Gulf Stream with a North wind for 3 days.
Nassau to Rose Island with my old buddy Fisch.
New crew Joe Mello joins Scooby for some fishing, snorkeling and trouble.
We throw out the full arsenal of fishing weapons on the sail from Warderick Wells to Staniel Cay. Finally get our eyes on the famous Thunderball Grotto and see the "OG" swimming pigs.
Sailing into one of the most beautiful areas in the exumas. Our Code 0 sail is twisted at the top and will not come down so Kacie has to hoist Skip up the mast for the first time. Scary!! We hike up Boo Boo Hill and place our Scooby sign on the pile.
We sail to Shroud Cay (part of the Exuma Land and Sea Park). Lots to explore with endless waterways and beaches.
Lots of controversy regarding Norman's Cay and the connection to Pablo Escabar (Medellin Cartel). We snorkel around the famous plane (Curtiss C-46 Commando) that crashed in the 1980's.
We sail the shallow waters off Finley Cay in route from Eleuthera to the Exumas. We stop at Beacon Cay, Highborne Cay and Norman Cay to start our Exuma exploration.
We sail through a Blue Hole in route to the Ragged Islands.

Devil's Backbone
We cruise around Spanish Wells, Eleuthera visiting some gorgeous beaches, sand spits, and even PIGS.
We set sail from the Atlantis (Paradise Island) to Eleuthera.
This is the Bahamas we hoped for!
We start with a Christening Ceremony for Scooby and then toss the lines to cross the Gulf Stream to Bimini, Bahamas. We catch our first fish trolling (and no we didn't use Gummy Worms like the last one).
Prepping to get off the dock and on our way!

Couchboarding - The New Thing
This is such a cool boat (my current favorite). Kacie and I did the Balance U on Vingilótë which took place in Blaine, WA. This was right on the Canadian border and the idea was to sail around the San Juan Islands for a few days. Unfortunately, the SMOKE was crazy (as you can see in the video) and the wind was dead calm. We did managed to get to a whopping 5 1/2 knots (in maybe 6 knots of wind) with the Main and Screacher up. The owners of Vingilótë (Edwin/Irene) were awesome and a huge wealth of knowledge for those seriously looking at a Balance Catamaran. We also had Captain Dunbar on board who helped sail Vingilote across the Atlantic. With the wind not cooperating we had plenty of time to ask a million questions and really check out all the cool options, storage, future changes, and comparison to the new Balance 482.
Social Distancing (with our social bubble) and homeschooling while enjoying the beauty of Lake Shasta. This was my test run of the DJI Mavic 2 Pro drone.
